Surin Province is located on the high grounds of the Northeast plateau of Thailand, which rises some 300 meters above the central plains. The pattern of rainfall is unpredictable and the rainy season is not long enough for storing. Therefore, water is a crucial resource in the province. The people depend on these water resources for drinking, irrigating crops and tending livestock.

The last year has been a busy one for our field office as there were many projects that were completed, especially in the new schools that are now in our Child Sponsorship Program. Some of the projects were:

• Drinking water system
• Toilet construction & renovation
• School construction & renovation
• Tables & chairs for the lunch room
• Playground equipment
