Our History
1960 - ICARE was founded as Evangelism Centre Inc. out of an idea conceived by Joe and Lois Bass - American Southern Baptists to provide practical aid to Christian in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union.
1979 - International Christian Aid sent its first team of specialist to work in the Thailand refugee camp of Kao-I-Dang.
1982 - International Christian Aid was incorporated as a public company with the name International Christian Aid Limited.
1983 - International Christian Aid changed its name to International Christian Aid Relief Enterprises Limited.
1997 - ICARE separated from InterAid and started operations as an independent NGO.
2000 - ICARE started working with the local NGOs as well as with other international partners to facilitate our work in Uganda, Kenya, Thailand, Philippines and India.
Today - ICARE is focusing on empowering women and youth through education, to build a better sustainable future for communities in developing countries.
